The last two weeks I have been in Gainesville, Georgia doing all sorts of training at launch and training camo for the world race. There are times that it has felt so overwhelming with little time to process to where some of the sweetest moments have happened.

We have been living in our own little squad bubble in order to be able to launch to Medellin, Colombia safely and following COVID restrictions. This has provided a unique space to be intentional and love each other more.

Currently, we are sitting at the Atlanta airport where we will board a flight at 5 am to start our journey to Colombia! So wild to thank that 11 months ago this was just a possibility and now it is here and REAL. God is so cool!

Here are the 5 things that I learned in my time at training camp:

  1. God speaks to us all in unique and individual ways. The way that he talks to me is going to be different than the way that He speaks to you.
  2. God is love and desires an intimate relationship with each of us. Shame and guilt are not of God. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are washed clean and allowed to have this intimate relationship with God.
  3. Living in a community as the church is so much fun while also hard at times. Never really having alone time after having been on your own certainly has its challenges but also allows me to view Christ in those around me. It also provides a safe space where we can encourage and call each other higher and pour out life and truth into each other.
  4. Port-A-Potties are not nearly as bad as I initially thought BUT my appreciation for indoor plumbing has certainly increased.
  5. The freedom that comes in living in a community that loves you through it all (even the dark ugly parts that you feel like you have) and knowing that God carefully knit and designed this squad to be together to go on this trip. That we all makeup different parts of the body that come together in such a beautiful way.

I encourage you to plug into the church body that you are with and see how God will use you. Please pray for safe and easy travels as we make our way to our first stop! Also, appreciate the indoor plumbing  Love you all!
