Hello all! It’s been a hot minute since I have written a blog. My squad and I are now in Uzhhorod, Ukraine where we are getting to partner with several different ministries.
Our days look different but a quick day in the life here in Ukraine goes like this:
Wake up around 7/8am to make breakfast and have our own personal quiet time.
Around 9am my team has a morning team time which one of us leads however the Lord directs. This can look like a Bible study, teaching, or worship.
Depending on the day our mornings are pretty open to take students to coffee, have extended team time, or reaching out to a host to pursue ministry where our team feels lead. A lot of ministry here in Ukraine is working with orphanages, Foster families, and going into the local university classes to build relationships with students.
For this being my first time serving overseas and really being in orphanages my heart has been breaking these two weeks. A prayer of mine this race is asking the Lord to break my heart for what breaks His. Since then there have been so many things to effect me in ways I never imagined. His heart for His children is so big.
After ministry we rotate on which team makes dinner for the squad where we have a sweet time of fellowship with one another. After dinner people go off and do their own thing. It can include games, reading, chatting with an after dinner tea.
Life here in Ukraine is not only a slower pace but also very spontaneous. It’s been so fun just exploring the city and building relationships with people here.
Until next time, love you!
