Hello Friends!

So much has happened since the last time we caught up.  Colombia is beautiful and the people here in Medellin have been so welcoming to us. We knew that traveling and doing ministry in the middle of a worldwide pandemic would have its challenges. We have been doing daily temperature checks, monitoring symptoms, and serving in all the different ways that we can. Then one week ago 8 out of the 15 people on my squad had tested positive for COVID-19. I was one of the 8 people who test positive but the only one that had no symptoms. This means that I am remaining in quarantine longer than those who have symptoms to follow CDC guidelines and to be loving to my neighbor.

Since testing positive I have felt a spirit of rejection and isolation looming over this squad. The enemy trying to find ways to use this time to put these feelings there. Since the beginning of February, we have been doing 24/7 prayer. This means that there is at least two people praying from our squad throughout the day. This time has not only been stretching but so sweet with the Lord. The minimum time is 3 hours (12-3am is the best!)

Something that the Lord is speaking over me individually but also the squad is walking in His freedom and what that looks like. The enemy is the father of lies and a master at deception. These lies keep us in bondage and from fulfilling the purpose God has placed in our lives which is threatening to the enemy. I see a vision of freedom in the squad as we each break chains that are holding us in shame. That we are running together looking left and right knowing that the 14 other individuals are there with us. That we are becoming the body of Christ that walks through the valleys and rejoices at the mountain tops.

The Lord gives us the freedom to walk in the light. In my prayer time, I was given 1 John 1:5-7

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him. If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

God wants us to walk together in fellowship with one another. He desires our hearts to be His and that we are to love one another well. I am so stinking excited to see this squad grow together in the community and break any chains and walk-in freedom and light together.

To end this blog, I would love to know how my squad and I can be praying for you this month? Prayer is powerful and I would feel honored to stand up and fight with you in prayer.
